Domestic electrical work

 

In England and Wales Building Regulations require that all domestic electrical work are to be designed and installed safely according to the “fundamental principles” of BS 7671, chapter 13, the British Standard detailing requirements for electrical installation. In Scotland the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004 apply.

All new domestic electrical work must comply with Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales, introduced on 1st January 2005 – these are legally enforceable.
